What is Scrap

Scrap is a robot combat arena where you watch real fights from public footage and call what happens next with points. Everyone watches the same replay together, votes while predictions are open, and sees each result settled with the evidence behind it.

The arena currently runs on the REK fight card, using archived public footage from REK Arena in San Francisco. The robots are piloted by named players, and every prediction is tied to a specific fight on that card.

Taking part happens in three steps, and the rest of this guide covers each one in detail.

Claim your seat

To vote you need a public handle. Pick one on the Join the arena page and your account starts with 1,000 points straight away.

3 to 24 letters, numbers or underscores, shown with an @ prefix.

Handle choice

Handles are public, so use a handle rather than your real name.

Starting points

1,000 points, plus 500 more with your first accepted vote in each fight.

Where access lives

Your access is saved in this browser, so you return to your handle by opening the arena in the same browser.

If you only want to watch, you can browse the arena without a handle. Watching on its own does not add any points.

The shared replay

Everyone follows the same replay room. The host starts, pauses and resumes playback for the whole room, so every viewer sees the same moment of the fight at the same time.

To watch, open the fight page and load the video player. The footage is played through YouTube, so loading the player connects to YouTube. Once it is loaded, playback begins when the host starts the replay.

If the replay has not started, the room is waiting for the host. Load the video on the fight page so it is ready the moment playback begins.

Predictions

A prediction is a question about a fight with two or more outcomes. You choose one outcome, the vote uses 10 points, and your points join the pool for that prediction.

Durations

Predictions run over different windows of the fight, and the Markets page lets you filter by them. Next event covers whatever happens next, 30 seconds covers a short window of play, This round covers the current round, and Whole fight stays open for the full bout.

When you can vote

You can vote on an outcome while its prediction shows Voting open, and voting can open before the replay starts. It is unavailable while playback is paused, after the replay ends, or while your connection is recovering. A locked or completed prediction cannot receive another vote.

The percentage beside each outcome shows how the pool's points are split between the sides. A dash means no one has voted yet, and the first vote sets the split.

Points and the first-fight bonus

Every new handle starts with 1,000 points. Your first accepted vote in each fight adds 500 points before it uses 10, which gives you a little extra to start with every time you join a new fight.

For a new player, that leaves 1,490 points after the first vote. Each vote after that in the same fight uses 10 points with no bonus, and the bonus applies again with your first vote in the next fight.

Pools, results and refunds

Each accepted vote adds 10 points to its prediction's pool. When the result is in, the winning side shares the pool after any SCRAP share is deducted.

Pool

The total of all accepted votes on a prediction, at 10 points each.

Split

Percentages show how the points in the pool are divided between outcomes.

Winning side

Shares the pool once the SCRAP share is deducted.

Cancelled

Every vote on the prediction is refunded in full.

Evidence

Every result includes its evidence, and you can open a result to see that evidence or the reason for a refund.

Leaderboard

The leaderboard shows how your calls stack up against the rest of the community. Players are ranked by net points, which are the points returned to you minus the points you used to vote.

• Votes that are still awaiting a result count as points used.
• Starting points and first-vote bonuses do not count toward net points, so the ranking reflects your calls alone.
• You can view the ranking for All time, for This card, or By fight.

My votes

My votes is where you track your points and revisit the evidence behind your results. Every accepted vote appears there along with its outcome once the prediction settles.

If a vote is still confirming, check My votes before trying again. If the app asks you to retry, retry the same outcome so it can confirm the original vote safely instead of placing a second one.

Share card

Once you have confirmed votes you can create a private preview card showing those votes and your current points, and then decide whether to share or download it. The card contains no account access information, and points on it have no monetary value.

Fight stats and telemetry

Each fight room shows tagged fight counts for both sides, and a telemetry panel that lists the feeds planned for later. Counts appear as tagged events are recorded, and a dash means unavailable rather than zero.

Planned telemetry

These feeds stay visible in the arena so you can see what is coming, but no connected data feed exists for them yet.
